Since 1998, he has served as a specialist in dendrological collections at the Rogów Arboretum, and since 2002, he has held the position of Director of the Arboretum. He is the author of 190 popular science articles in the fields of dendrology and landscape architecture, published in numerous horticultural journals, as well as the author of one scientific monograph, co-author of a popular science book, and author or co-author of 39 scientific papers and 24 conference presentations and posters.
From 2004 to 2014, he served as Chairman of the Polish Botanical Gardens Association, where he developed the National Plant Collections Programme, and he chaired its certification committee until 2023. He is a board member of The Maple Society, the Council of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta in Poland, and the Polish Dendrological Society, as well as a member of the Scientific Councils of the Bolestraszyce Arboretum and the Marcule Arboretum.
He also participates in academic teaching at the Faculty of Forestry, the Faculty of Horticulture, Biotechnology and Landscape Architecture (WOiAK), the Urban Horticulture programme at SGGW, and the Garden Design programme at Northwest Normal University in China.
